This fantastic, free event brings the electric atmosphere of a Tattoo-style arena event to Perth city centre. Offering families the chance to see military and civilian bands from across Scotland in a dazzling parade through the streets towards the North Inch, the City of Perth Salute is not to be missed. And, to top it all off, this Salute is set to be bigger and better than ever as the festivities will be commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day!
Starting from Thimblerow Car Park at noon, the Parade will feature massed bands, WWII vehicles used in the D-Day landings and community groups including Julie Young Dance School. After making their way from the Old High Street to the bottom of the High Street, before turning left onto Tay Street, the parade will culminate at North Inch Park. Expected duration is one hour.
Expect to see breathtaking performances across the afternoon from the likes of the World's Premier Military style display team, The Imps Motorcycle Display Team and, returning to Perth for another unforgettable show, the Red-Hot Chilli Pipers.
Make sure to arrive early and bag yourself a seat in our City of Perth Salute Grandstand. Looking out over the main Arena, this is the perfect viewpoint to enjoy the Parade performers as they showcase their talents. All the thrill of a Tattoo-style arena event awaits you, as each of the acts brings their unique flavour of entertainment to the North Inch Park.
Wander around and soak up the atmosphere of the Salute Fringe. A fantastic collection of Scottish Military vehicles will also be on display, along with WWII reenactors, Militaria, along with both the Mela and Salute Markets
You can pack a picnic, or whet your appetite with one of our street food vendors.
To top it all off, Balhousie Castle will be open between 11 am and 2 pm and is offering guided tours with a unique glimpse into history. Book your castle tours here.
